Coral Sand

1. Do you remember the white sand by sea strand?
Ocean swells boomed on distant coral reefs.
I do remember the music of a steel band,
trade wind was rustling the fronds of palm trees.
I was in love, that I can’t deny.
Your eyes shone brighter than stars on the sky.
We were so young, we danced to the band,
the rising Sun found us sleeping on the coral sand.

2. Do you remember the lagoon and mountain?
Birds sang in the jungle colored lush green.
I still remember your laughter at the fountain.
You were so charming, and I was so keen.
I’d wish to get back the days of my youth.
Then I won’t hesitate to tell you the truth:
I’ll always stay with you by the sea side,
counting night stars, listening to high tide.

3. Where are you now, you true friend of mine?
Years creep on me, there are dregs in my wine.
Oh, coral sand, so easy to walk.
Who is now listening to your sweet love talk?
Oh, white coral sand! Remember?
