Kappaleen sanat

Once I was young, like it was yesterday
Bright eyes ever scanning through life secure
As the day went by and night fell on again
My longing stare turned out to the darkened heavens

The old looking glass before me tells the truth now
Dim red eyes seek refuge from inside
I feel I might have died a hundred times
But before a complete end gray tears emerge

Fill my eyes again clear colors of childhood
A mellow summer lawn and the warm winds
Now this boundless fall blows my flame out
Frozen in stone my old soul sighs farewell

Safe in the city, under a dull sky
What was supposed to make me content in life
I never had a god to beckon from beyond
Slowly these wrinkled hands melt among the breeze

As another daylight lands behind the blurring horizon
From the pillow thoughts scatter away
For a moment a feeling of marvel goes by
Image of a universe smiling at me
