Vable: Where has the summer gone?

'Where has the summer gone?' by PJ Burnhill

VERSE 1
Closed gate, abandoned park
the wind is moving in the grass, in the grass
It asks the old oak tree, once mighty and strong:
'Where has the.. where has the summer gone?'

The tree doesn't answer, it had it's last breath.
It just stands still on the hill it was once seeded,
the wind cries out, as it slowly moves on:
'Where has the summer gone?'

CHORUS
You opened up your heart and blinded with your brightness for a while,
then you left me in the dark - 'Where has the summer gone?'

VERSE 2
The wind goes to the west, it goes to the east,
it throws in the air all the fallen leaves.
It howls to the south and begs from the north:
'Where has the summer gone?'

Getting no answer it slowly dies out,
while last tired leaves fall sleep on the ground.
Once lively and green park faintly echoes the song:
'Where has the summer gone?'

CHORUS x 2
