Leapyear: Come Home to Me

Open my eyes
Above I see blue sky
I fell asleep on the terrace
Now there are traces of clouds
And a plane.

You have come home
Soon you will be at my door
I'll wait at the beach
Sprays of foam
And sand between my toes.

Warmth upon my face
The sun comes out, the rain stops
The time ticks away on one of those clocks
I walk down to the docks

To find a bottle from the sea
And wrap thoughts of you around me
The roar of retroengines
The plane is landing
You'll come home to me
Straight to me
Like you had never been gone.
To the pier where I am standing, waiting
And smell the breeze,
Touch my cheek,
Come home.
