Duncan Busto aka THE SPIRIT (aka Phantom Audio with Digital)!

Ipswichistä kotoisin oleva Duncan lähti Lontooseen 80-luvun loppupuolella suorittamaan kemian tutkintoa ja tutustui siellä Detroit house ja teknopiireihin. Näihin aikoihin Duncan aloitti myös DJ-uransa.
Vuonna 1991 Duncan sai tarpeeksensa hedonistisesta Lontoosta ja palasi hetkeksi takaisin Ipswichiin työskentelemään Rob Solomonin (aka Universal/Lexis) levykauppaan Essential Selectioniin. Vuonna 1992 Duncan auttoi Tom Isonia Red Eye Recordsin perustamisessa ja pian levyjen parissa touhuaminen johti siihen, että Duncan kiinnoistui oman musiikin tuottamisesta ja ensimmäiset miehen julkaisut tulivat Timelessin ja Digitalin Fresh 86 levymerkin takaa. Duncanin ja Digitalin ensimmäiset yhteistuotokset tehtiin vuoden 1996 aikoihin, mutta vasta vuoden 1999 yhteistuotos ' Phantom Force ' nosti heidät suuremman yleisön suosioon. Tästä syntyi myös levymerkki Phantom Audio.
Timelessin, Metalheadzin ja Phanton Audion lisäksi Duncanin tuotoksia on tullut myös mm. Renegade Hardwaren, CIA:n ja Commercial Suiciden kautta. Duncanin soundia voisi kuvailla sanoilla "atmospheric with a groove - heavy, dubby, quite melodic, quite spacey, but phat as well".

Phantom Audio has continued it's success over the years with a number of key releases, both solo and joint projects, with the latest 'Heavy Handed' due to appear in January 2004. The duo has also been called in for some major remix work, none more so than Shy FX & T. Powers massive hit 'Shake Your Body'.
Spirit's solo work continued with further releases for C.I.A, Timeless, Renegade Hardware (including the mammoth 'Sphinx') and the mighty 'Solitaire' for Metalheadz which culminated the launch of his own solo imprint, Inneractive Music in the summer of 2002.
2003 has seen Spirit go on to even bigger and better things, with Inneractive Music now firmly in position on it's sixth release. Recent work for Klute's Commercial Suicide label, also featured on the Metalheadz LP 'MDZ03’, also watch out for a release for Marcus Intalex and St. Files Revolve:r imprint due out Late Oct / early Nmov 03. Check out the massive rework of ' Dreamcatcher ' (featuring Jennifer Bolton on vocals) for Narcotix and a fresh 12” for Metalheadz all set to land before the years is out . If that's not enough, his hugely in-demand reworking of Goldie's classic 'Sinister' is also set to appear in January.

SPIRIT / INNERACTIVE MUSIC NEWS UPDATE
UPDATE: OCT DEC 2003
Spirit launches Inneractive Music into its second year with it's biggest release to date. Currently doing the rounds within the D&B fraternity, Spirit¹s ‘Chinese Whispers¹ has been heavily featured in the sets of Grooverider, Goldie, Swift, Probe & Ruffstuff. Check out the AA flip side for Digital¹s 1st guest appearance on Inneractive with the mighty 'Knight Rider'.
Late Oct / Early Nov 03 Inneractive Music is also proud to present it's debut release from one of the hottest new talents on the circuit coming from the UK, Amit. Having released on L-Plates with ‘Snakepit¹ & ‘Erazer¹ & featured on the Function double pack series Quad II with ‘Dub Solider¹, already scheduled are releases for Klute's Commercial Suicide imprint as well as the infamous Metalheadz. Amit¹s Inneractive 12” single 'Myth' and 'The Tube' show his diverse talents from dark, Eastern atmospherics to deeply sculptured rhythms.
It's a busy end of year for Spirit, with a release about to appear on MIST's Revolve:r imprint, ‘Labyrinth¹ & ‘Bittersweet¹ Cat No: relvole:r 002. More of his deadly sounds touch down with the awesome ‘Solitaire Remix¹ on Metalheadz and the heavily in-demand rework of ' Dream catcher ' with Jennifer Bolton on vocals for Narcotix.
He's also been back in the studio with Digital completing more material for their joint imprint Phantom Audio. The next 12² single to lookout for is 'Heavy Handed', pencilled in for late January 04. Spirit is currently at work on No: 8 for Inneractive due for release at the end of the year, with some special projects in the pipeline for the 2004...
Finally on the Remix tip watch out for Spirit's recently completed remixes of Zoe H's 'Take Me Anywhere' for Narcotix, also the one that everyone wants, his reworking of Goldie's classic 'Sinister' forthcoming on Metalheadz sister label Razors edge!
