pakko myöntää et olis kai pitäny tiedostaa tää jannu jo aikaisemmin, mut tuli mulle ihan puun takaa. Tosi hyvä soundi, siisti lauluääni ja hyvä tuotanto. Ei voi ku arvostaa. Ja sinkkubiisikin on täyttä asiaa junioreille.
The magnificent storyteller, Lyfe Jennings, has pulled out all of the stops on his sophomore album , The Phoenix, writing all the songs on the album except for the one cover, and delivering something for everyone.
The Phoenix begins with a definite club banger "Slow Down" that features G-Unit rapper, Young Buck, and Jesus Swings artist, Doc.Black.
The heart-wrenching "Goodbye" is a genuine masterpiece that shows off a vocal talent even most of his fans may not be aware of.
The selection is just begging for a Grammy nomination for Best Male Vocal Performance. Not to be outdone, "Let's Stay Together," a massive radio tune, will have couples in a relationship distress indebted to Lyfe. Don't be surprised to find this song becoming a staple at weddings of married couples renewing their vows. Adding to the magic is the super-sexy ballad "Stingy," on which Lyfe is accompanied by an orchestra.
The Phoenix also includes an R&B ode to the Notorious B.I.G. which is both engaging and amusing. Keeping the cars bumping will be a given with "Still Here," a speaker-bumping, old school track that features the Oscar-winning group Three 6 Mafia and their kindred, Project Pat.
"S.E.X." (featuring Lyfe's Jesus Swings artists, La La Brown), the first single from the album, finds Lyfe shedding light on the uncomfortable subject and the experience of a young girl developing into a young women, and its effect on the males she encounters.
Summing up the message of the album and providing the perfect sing-along, Lyfe delivers "Keep Your Head Up" - a remake of hip-hop icon Tupac's feel-good classic.
