Pop No Harm: Eagle blues

Eagle Blues (1997,2005)

In the hot night,
I'm driving
through the dust clouds
I'm diving
freeing my mind
never rewind
leaving
days of fool's gold
marks in the road
now singing:

Raise your head to the sun
when life's not well
Raise your eyes to the sky
and leave your shell
spread your wings to the world
it's time to tell
beauty is glowing
in deserts,
in rivers flowing.

Over the earth,
out to the ocean
where the whales are singing
their watery blues
over the mountains
postcard-like views,
this bird is
leaving his haven
aim at horizon
climbing higher
to kingdom of flier
born to be
eagle and free.

More speed to gain
I'm dreaming
on a fast lane
engine's screaming
rubber to burn
never return
fleeing
crowds in the street
shoes in my feet
were pleading:

Raise your head to the stars
heart in unrest
raise your eyes to the light
and leave your nest
spread your wings for the flight
when time's the best
chick in the past
now taking-off
speeding fast.
